He is also known for his roles in the movies "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971) and "The Falcon and the Snowman" (1985).

Woods starred in several western TV shows and movies, including "The Big Valley" (1965-1969) and "The Virginian" (1970-1971). He also appeared in the soap opera "One Life to Live" from 1979 to 1987, playing the role of Bo Buchanan.

Woods was married to actress Lauren Chapin from 1957 to 1961 and has two children. He retired from acting in the 1990s and currently lives a private life in California.
